Internet Connectivity and WiFi Requirements

As the Smart Box needs to be in constant contact with the HomeValet platform, a strong WiFi signal is required.

Network Signal

While your Smart Box’s WiFi is dual-band and can transmit at either 2.4GHz or 5GHz, we recommend using the 2.4GHz option as it provides a better connection over a greater distance.

Before setting up your Smart Box, you should test your WiFi network's signal strength in the area where you would like to place your Smart Box to ensure that your box will maintain a consistent connection.

Using a WiFi booster:

A WiFi extender/booster is an easy way to increase your home's WiFi range. While they vary in price, most are relatively inexpensive. You can purchase an extender from retailers such as Walmart, BestBuy, and Amazon.

When deciding what booster to use with your Smart Box, we suggest making sure that you buy one that can support dual-band WiFi like this one from Netgear.
