As a safety precaution, your Smart Box is equipped with an emergency release located on the inside of the Smart Box’s lid.
If someone becomes trapped inside of the Smart Box, pressing on the interior release will deactivate the electromagnetic lock and allow the person to open the Smart Box from within the cabinet.
The interior release can also be depressed by groceries or packages improperly situated in the Smart Box. As this will prevent the lid from locking, it is important to ensure that deliveries do not press against the Smart Box lid.
If the interior release is triggered, an alarm will emit from the Smart Box for five (5) minutes. You will also receive a push notification in the HomeValet mobile app, alerting you to the event.
Once the interior release is no longer depressed, your Smart Box will return to its previous state.
IMPORTANT - It is a safety hazard to allow children, adults, or animals to climb into the Smart Box cabinet. Never leave children or animals unattended around an open or unlocked Smart Box.
